About the Book
FATUM: poetic journey with film photography {to love} is a first of its kind poetry-narrative book featuring 200 pages of dualistic poetry and double exposure film photography. As a timeless modern love story, sixty-eight interconnected poems are paired with visceral photography which juxtapose innermost thoughts. FATUM takes readers on a journey through real-life experiences between brutal reality, fantasy and spirituality, to uncover the greatest love of all: love of self.
The poetry and dream-like double exposure photography complement each other in mood and metaphor, both capturing the dark and light of loss, longing, and finding the greatest beauty in toxic places. The dual works envelop themes of abandonment and loss, spirituality and hope, autonomous empowerment, and the ultimate supreme growth of self. The film photography is taken mostly on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles and Salton Sea during COVID-19.
